LOVEFEAST
SATURDAY, March 3
5-8 PM

A Lovefeast service is a service dedicated to Christian love and is most famously practiced by the Moravians. It is also practiced by groups descending from the Schwarzenau Brethren. The term was used by the Primitive Methodists.A Lovefeast seeks to strengthen the bonds and the spirit of harmony, goodwill, and congeniality, as well as to forgive past disputes and instead love one another.  The Moravian Lovefeast is based on the Agape feast and the meals of the early churches described in the Bible in the Acts of the Apostles, which were partaken in unity and love. The Moravian Lovefeast also concentrates on the singing of hymns and listening to music which may come from the organ or choir.

Another group that participates in this tradition is the Primitive Methodists. Some congregations also hold large potluck-style meals that are called Lovefeasts.

At House of Good Hope, we hold a potluck dinner with worship and ending in communion symbolic of our covenant relationship with one another as part of the Body of Christ.  All are welcome!  Join us this Saturday at 329 Fairfield Avenue, Hartford.  Please bring a dish to pass, also let us know you're coming!

A new prayer initiative is breaking out in our state!  What would it look like to have a CANOPY OF PRAYER completely covering Connecticut?  What if there was a 24 hour rotating prayer meeting going on nonstop, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week?

We are coordinating with America PRAYS and New England PRAYS to build this CANOPY OF PRAYER over our state.  We are answering the call to devote ourselves to unceasing prayer for our cities, states and nation.

“All these with one accord were devoting themselves to prayer.” Acts 1:14

We are now recruiting Connecticut churches who will covenant together to pray 6, 12, or 24 hours one day per month on the same day, to pray for our state, for the New England region, for our country.

Would your church or ministry like to join us?

HARTFORD CONCERT OF PRAYER

Thursday, March 8 from 7-9 PM
South Church (in the Meetinghouse)
277 Main Street, Hartford

On the 2nd Thursday of every month we are holding a citywide CONCERT OF PRAYER, which is part of the statewide CT Prays prayer iniativie.  As in the days of Jonathan Edwards we will press in for another Great Awakening in our city, in our state and in the New England region.

Last week's Concert of Prayer was amazing! The worship and intercession was powerful and our speaker Christina Bennett shared with some incredible information on how we can effectively pray for our state government and for the Family Institute of CT.

We are now working on obtaining speakers and prayer leaders for our next citywide Concert of Prayer.  All are encouraged to come and partner to pray for us as we pray for our state capital.
