Tabernacle Prayer, 10/31/2020

I knew when we scheduled it that having Tabernacle Prayer at The Well on Halloween was going to be both difficult and rewarding, and it was both.  I won't describe the obstacles; all anyone needs to know is that God steamrolled right over them all, and brought about His victory.  On a day which is dedicated by many to fear, darkness, and death, we were privileged to stand on the Rock and proclaim faith, light, and life.  In circumstances which could have been seen as challenging, God enabled us to rise to the challenge and press into His presence.  He supplied everyone and everything we needed.

The wonderful thing about blocking out four hours for Tabernacle Prayer is that when we do, we are doing what faithful Jewish people do on the Sabbath:  they make time for the Lord.  They gather together, devoting the day to Him and to each other, and they don't rush.  They linger and savor the teaching and the worship.  He loves it when we do that.  It didn't feel like four hours, yet we were able to take our time to really look and listen as He led us right through to the Altar of Incense.  I was hoping we would go right into the Holy of Holies, but we stopped because it seemed to be time to end at 1:00 pm.  I would have been willing to stay longer.

It is interesting to me that on Mondays when we only have two hours for Tabernacle Prayer, God is not constrained by time.  We always seem to go as far as we need to go.  And God is also not constrained by Zoom.  He is just as present with us when we pray together over the internet as when we are all face to face.  As we enter this new (hopefully short) season of meeting via Zoom, I hope that more people will take the plunge and join us.
